Use construction glue. Your local hardware store can recommend the best type for your application (indoors, outdoors, etc)
I use command strips- heavy duty tape-lastly I use heavy duty glue.
No More Nails.................
E6000 glue will hold them in place for an eternity LoL, but seriously this glue will glue anything together.
Screws would be good if the holes are visible. Choose for diameter of hole and thickness of wood. Take one to the store with you. Good luck!
