What kind of paint do they use on a canvas to swirl around to make a ?

If I am to guess —-about the intention of your question— it might be the acrylic pour technique method. I tried it a while ago using testers marbleizing medium. It had very interesting results particularly when using a metallic component. Please see the examples below.

If you search the YouTube for acrylic pours you can see their various techniques including using strainers to get different paint pour patterns when using an acrylic medium.

Hi! I use canvas drop cloth when I paint, and I wash them when they get dirty. I have found that latex, acrylic and oil paints all soak into the canvas. Chalk paint washes out. So, basically, any paint will adhere to canvas. If you aren't going to get it wet in the future, you can use almost any thing. A painter's canvas should be primed with Gesso for a smooth starting surface. You can spray, splatter, paint, drip, pour any product you want on canvas. Use brushes, rollers, stencils - whatever look you want. Good luck and stay safe!
