This is revolutionary but try the local phone book. You also might try local contractors.
Hi, You could try looking on Craigslist! If you don't see any there, you could And place an ad on Craigslist, or even your local paper. I just went to there in my area and found 3 ads for it!
For an installer, you might want to look an Angieslist.com .
Good luck!
Unless you are experienced with wood restoration, you need to buy reclaimed wood from an established wood yard. This would include Lowes and Home Depot. If you buy an old shack to use the wood, it will have all kinds of bugs in it like termites and spiders. The wood may have nails in it. Fungus may be growing. Not for amateurs. And if you want somebody who is experienced and knows what he/she is doing, you need to pay for that expertise. Heavy hardwood can not just be nailed or glued to drywall. Would you buy a small beige refrigerator or a big stainless steal, if you were remodeling your kitchen in your new house? Would you rather pay $300 for labor to put reclaimed wood in three focal points in your new house, but the work doesn't have a real guarantee or a real company behind it; or would you rather pay a professional person with a professional company and real guarantees? I save money wherever I can, but not at the expense (!) of not knowing that I can't depend on the work done. Truly, best wishes 😇
Flea markets and salvage company's are good prospects
If it's a handyman special you may check with your nearest Habitat Resale Store, local Churches, even Ace Hardware, Sherwin Williams, and Benjamin Moore paint stores may be able to direct you to a few local handymen. Check with neighbors who may have had work done and are pleased with the end results. For large projects, contact several licensed contractors who are insured and can complete the work you wish to have done. Have you thought about installing faux wood planks yourself? It's doable, easy and very rewarding. Measure twice, cut once! Have fun.
