Hosting parties has been my favorite past-time since I was young. Whether it is a birthday, housewarming, BBQ, shower or holiday party, I love to go all out with decorations. Because I host so many parties I can't afford to go all out on the budget for every party. My new favorite budget party decoration is paper! Today I am sharing three of my favorite paper party crafts! The best part is that they are so easy...... almost fail proof!
I am obsessing over giant paper flowers! Scroll to learn how to make these and 2 other paper crafts!
Project 1: Party Pinwheels (2 ways)

Visit our website for step by step picture instructions to make each style of pinwheel.
Project 2: Giant Paper Flowers
DIY Giant Paper Flowers
  • 19 sheets of 8.5x11 inch paper
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
Steps:
  1. Draw/cut out a large petal that fills the entire sheet of paper. Cut 5 more of this size petal.
  2. Create a slightly smaller petal that is the same shape and cut out 6 of this size.
  3. Create a slighter smaller petal (smallest of the three sizes) and cut out 5 of this size.
  4. Cut a large circle out of one of the remaining sheets.
  5. Stack each size of petal and roll and unroll the stack to give the petals a 3D look.
  6. Take each petal and cut a 3-inch slit starting at the flat side.
  7. Cross over the flaps and secure with hot glue. The will give the flat petal an actual petal shape.
  8. Starting with the largest petals glue them around the outside of the circle.
  9. Glue the medium petals closer to the center around the circle and follow with the smallest petals.
  10. Take the remaining sheet of paper and cut 1/4-1/2 inch thick x 8.5 inch strips of paper.
  11. Curl each strip with the scissors just like you would curl ribbon.
  12. Hot glue the end of each curled strip to the center.
Vary the flower designs by changing up the shape of the petals or mixing colored paper. I think these are perfect for a photo backdrop, fireplace display or even the wall of a nursery (hint hint... stay tuned for Lily's nursery reveal later this year).

Project 3: Paper Lanterns

  • 8.5 x 11 inch or 12 x 12 inch pieces of paper

  • Washi Tape
Fold in half and cut slits starting on the folded side. Stop cutting about 1 inch from the end.
