Starting with a basic glass jar you can use common crafting items to create a unique and one of a kind jar. Add patterns or words for organizing your pens, brushes, or supplies. Paint with different colors to match your decor or help further organize.
Step 1: Decide on the pattern or word you want to have on your bottle or jar. Begin with a clean glass surface and add the pattern with a hot glue gun. (hint: draw it on with chalk first if you don't want to freehand the design)
Step 2: Complete the pattern or word and allow the hot glue to harden. Make sure the glue does not run or drip while hardening. You may have to lay the jar on it's side to keep it from running down.
Step 3: After the glue has completely hardened you are ready to paint. I used a small sized chalk paint from the craft section of the store. It is chalk paint in smaller amounts and they have different colors available. However, any craft paint will work for this project. I applied the paint using a dry brush technique. (More on that technique here.)
After the jar is dry it is ready for use! Use your jar as a vase for flowers, organizing your cupboards, or group them together for an arrangement on a shelf. To see more on this project and for additional projects and home inspiration you can head to the original blog post.
