Create a soft, chic vase using dollar tree supplies for under $4 using a little hot glue and nautical rope! You can make so many different sizes to help add a little texture to your space without breaking the bank!

Supplies:

Glass Vase (Found at Dollar Tree)

Nautical Rope (Found at Dollar Tree - I used 2!)

Hot Glue & Glue Gun

Scissors

Here's the quick & easy steps - a video summarizing the steps is above if that's helpful for you!

  • Start at the bottom of your vase with your nautical rope. Dab a spot of hot glue and place the end of the nautical rope on it and wait until it dries. We want to make sure it is as close to the bottom as possible so it covers your vase.
  • After it dries, start wrapping it around your vase. Make sure it's done tightly, otherwise things will start to hang. I dabbed glue every few inches or so to make sure I had a strong hold. Remember to pull tight and to squish tight to the subsequent row so no glass shows through the back.
  • Continue all the way up your glass vase; how much rope you need will depend on how big your decided vase was. Mine needed a little under two of them. When my first rope ran out, I just tried to join the next one as close to the end of the first one as possible and lined it up. While it does create a stopping point, I think it looks totally fine!
  • When you get to the end, I tried to line up the edge in line with where I had the start and stop of the ropes in the middle as well and determined that it would be the "back" of my vase, especially if you are putting it up against the wall. While I don't think it looks bad by any means, it allows you to hide those pieces if you want a continuous look of rope, which I have dubbed the "front" of the vase. No one will ever know!

Make sure you have enough glue in all the spots, let it dry, and you have yourself a fun, textured vase for only a few bucks!
