Suggested materials:
- An outdoor garden Vase & Bowl water fountain. A repurposed nightstand I already had. Live plants & flowers I already had. A Santa I recently found at Goodwill. A string of white LED lights I already had. (I got the water fountain at Lowe's.)
- I filled the fountain with spring water to help keep the water from causing calcium & mineral deposits in the fountain. Walmart sells their brand if spring water for $0.88 per gallon. (Most of the items I used in this project were those I already had on hand.)

Since having this fountain inside & running all the time, I have discovered that this water fountain has given some additional benefits I never even thought about.
I had assumed that once you fill it, the water would just stay in it. NOT the case. However, I'm not complaining & don't mind adding water every couple days. WHY would I need to add water?? It evaporates as the water moves through the air & thus acts as a humidifier without any wet spots on anything like commonly happens with cool mist humidifiers.
Believe it or not, it puts about 2 quarts water moisture into the air every 24 hours.
We heat our homes & heat dries moisture out of the air so the fountain balances the air so that skin, sinuses, etc do not dry out such that some kind of Medical address is needed. More comfortable sitting in the living room.
Another advantage is far less dust & dander floating in air, even when I sweep the floor. We have pets so lots of dander & dust. Our bird room is adjacent & open into living room, no sneezing now even when I sweep & clean cages.
As a result of this, i'm going to put in an additional water fountain in our bedroom for more comfortable rest, relaxation, & sleep.
Plants in fountain feature are thriving well too.
