Candle Sticks Like You've Never Seen Before

Hey guys! Today I'm sharing a little craft I did to decorate for fall. I love to buy Bath and Body Works candles (obsessed with their fall scents like pumpkin apple), but sometimes the color of the candle wax does not work with my decor. To fix this, I'm sharing one simple way to recover your candle jars and a few more ways in my Hometalk Live presentation on Facebook Monday.
So to get started, I gathered a bunch of sticks from my yard. I used a clippers or garden shears to trim off branches and clip them to size. Simply measure how tall your glass jar is to get the length to cut the sticks.
To attach the sticks to the candle jar, I am going to use hot glue. Are you getting the headline now? Candle sticks like you've never seen?
It works best to put the glue on the stick and then press it to the glass. Putting the glue on the glass first causes it to cool too quickly.
It takes a little trial and error to get the sticks to fit together well. Go one piece at a time so it looks nice at the end.
This stick covered candle jar is really cute with the rest of my fall decor. See my full fall home tour here!
When it's lit up you can see between the sticks a little bit and it creates a cool effect!
As the candle burns, it does melt some of the hot glue holding on the sticks, but I haven't had any problem with the sticks falling off. It's unlikely the whole jar will be hot enough at one time.

This is cool, but I have a question. What keeps the glue from getting melted by the candle getting hot?
