Crochet Pot holder Placemats patterns are always so fun to make! Crochet Potholders are versatile. You have a choice to make them in any shape you wish. By using different combination and variety of Crochet Stitches, you can give them a lovely textured look. They are both decorative and functional and they also make beautiful gifts for your loved ones, be it any occasion. You can color code them and make them according to the holiday season.

Today am sharing the pattern for this easy to make Cluster Buster Crochet Round Potholder. These work up really quickly. The pattern uses simple crochet stitches and hence its a beginner friendly pattern too. The mid part of the pattern is made by working only in the back loops and is gradually worked upon with Double Crochet Cluster stitches.

Once you get a hang on making one, you will surely want to make more of them. Get your hooks and yarn ready and make couple of these potholders to add some handmade flair to your kitchen.


Materials Used:-

  • 4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
  • 4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-13 Inches

Notes:-

For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Lets Start...!!!!Round 1:-Start with a Magic Circle.

12 Double Crochets in the circle.Pull the yarn end to close the gap.Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.12 Stitches.



Round 2:-Chain 2.

2 Back Loop Double Crochets in each stitch around.

Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

24 stitches.




Round 3:-Chain 2. 1 Back Loop Double Crochet in the same stitch.2 Back Loop Double Crochets in the next stitch.Repeat*(1BLDC, 2BLDC).Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.36 Stitches.



Round 4:-Chain 2. 1 Back Loop Double Crochet each in 2 stitches.2 Back Loop Double Crochets in the next stitch.Repeat*(1BLDC*2, 2BLDC)Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.48 Stitches.



Round 5:-Chain 2. 1 Back Loop Double Crochet each in 3 stitches.2 Back Loop Double Crochets in the next stitch.Repeat*(1BLDC*3 , 2BLDC)Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.60 Stitches.



Round 6:-Chain 2. 1 Back Loop Double Crochet each in 4 stitches.2 Back Loop Double Crochets in the next stitch.Repeat*(1BLDC*4 , 2BLDC)Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.72 Stitches.



Round 7:-Chain 4 (the starting chain 2 will be considered as 1 Double Crochet and the remaining stitches will be counted as Chain 2.Skip 1 Stitch1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.Chain 2Repeat(1DC, Skip 1, Chain 2)Slip Stitch into the Second Chain.36 Chain 2 spaces.



Round 8:-Slip Stitch into the chain space. Chain 2.1 Double Crochet Cluster.Chain 2Repeat(1DC Cluster in the space, Chain 2)Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet Cluster.36 Clusters.

To Make a Double Crochet Cluster Stitch:-

  1. Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on the hook.(This is same as doing a Double Crochet Stitch. It is just that , you don't finish the Double Crochet Stitch and continue doing the first part of the Double Crochet Stitch again and again).You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  2. Yarn over, insert the hook in the same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops on the hook.
  3. Continue with the first part of Double Crochet stitch untill you have 4 loops on the hook.
  4. Yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on the hook.
  5. Chain 1.



Round 9:-Slip Stitch into the chain space. Chain 2.2 Double Crochet Clusters in each space.Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet Cluster.72 Clusters.



Round 10:-Chain 2.1 Front Post Double Crochet on the cluster.1 Double Crochet in the next stitch i.e. in between the two clusters.Repeat(1FPDC, 1DC)Slip stitch on top of the first FPDC and weave off.
