Hello Blissfully Domestic, I know that these could last many years with good care, but I wonder if using a spray fixative of some sort on them would help retain the crystals so they are not quite so delicate? These could be a beautiful heirloom ornament and I thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Regards, Linda
