Lamps are easy projects that are only limited by your creativity.
You can chose from a variety of bases. From existing lamps to candle holders, all these bases were purchased at resale shops and can be used as lamp bases.
Many candle holders can be unscrewed which makes them ideal for lamp bases.
All these embellishments were also purchased at resale shops. The key is to find items that can easily be drilled.
I started by drilling through the embellishment.
For the purpose of this project, I dismantled a preexisting lamp. The base has a flare that allowed the rocking horse to sit on the flare.
I cut the upper tube of the lamp so that it was not too tall.
I filed the edges of the tube to remove the sharp edges.
I rewired the lamp back to how it was previously wired, making sure to wire the neutral and hot wires appropriately.
This is the finished product.

Thanks Wendy. I am in the process of creating a number of one-off lamps made from items I have bought at resale shops. I will continue posting them as I complete them.
