Cute Miniature Mosaic Pots for Your Favorite Plants
I love to take plant cuttings and grow lucky money plants for friends and family, however they looked so lost in bigger pots and so I decided to make them their own gorgeous little first homes using colorful mosaic tiles. They also look great for herbs and succulents too!
I think they look so sweet and it was so easy to transform an ordinary terracotta pot into something that really looks special and surely cheers up any windowsill.
I used some basic little sized terracotta plant pots.
I then painted the rim top and base in Windsor & Newton Galeria flow formula acrylic paint. One in dark blue and one deep green.
The great thing about acrylic paint is that it is dry in minutes. Then comes the fun part! choosing Vitreous glass mosaic tiles in wonderful colours and I love to use some with a glittery sparkle too.
I used ready cut 10 mm x 10 mm which are just right for this project and so easy to use with no cutting needed.
I use Unibond PVA adhesive straight on to the pot. It gives a nice fix and drys clear. Is best to begin layering the tiles up from the pot in an upside down position so the first row sits on the rim. It helps keeps them straight and in position to dry. Building up to the base in random colours making sure to sit the tiles closely together then there's no need to grout.
Build up row by row allowing each to dry for a few minutes. It is still possible for a few minutes to swap about and replace if you need to while glue still tacky until you have the look you desire.
Leave to dry over night before planting up your favorite plants. These sweet little pots look amazing and will add sparkle to any home.
