Using some simple white rope bowls found at Target, stencils and a Sharpie marker, create these simple DIY Boho inspired rope bowls.

Boho style is not my usual style in home décor at all!

Not because I don’t like it, but mostly because it wouldn’t fit my style of home. That does not mean that I can’t include some small Boho accents in my modern home though. Or Farmhouse either.

The trick to having a comfortable, suited to you kind of home is being able to blend in the things you like with the overall style of your home.

This can be done by bringing in small items from different styles that just compliment the look of the room but doesn’t distract you from the overall look of the room.

That is exactly what these small rope bowls will do for my modern styled home.

At only $5 for a set of two small rope bowls at Target, this simple DIY won’t break the budget either.

Currently, we have several renovation projects going on in our house or either planned for the next few months. Our new sunroom is one of them.

The sunroom is on hold right now as we wait for the new windows to arrive at the factory so I am tackling some of the smaller projects for the room while we wait.

Small projects like these rope bowls for decorative accessories for the space.

When I found these rope bowls at Target I also found a small stencil set for only $3 and liked the modern and Boho style of the stencils. Together these items inspired this project.

To recreate this project you will need:

Use the blue painter’s tape to hold the stencil in place on the rope bowl.

I found that this only helped as a guide because the stencil was too stiff to actually fit the contour of the side of the bowl. Since the design doesn’t have to be perfect but have a more organic look for Boho style, I just positioned the stencil the best I could and moved it along the outside of the bowl as I created the design.

A fine point Sharpie marker also worked best to create such a small stenciled design. I used a black marker but any color would work for this project.

On the larger of the two rope bowls, I used the stencil with a pattern of triangles. On the bowl I alternated the design for one row of filled in triangles and one row of just the triangle outline.

Eventually these two DIY Boho style rope bowls will be on display in my new sunroom, but for now I just have them sitting in another room to enjoy.

In the next few months I hope to finally share a completed sunroom with you.
