DIY Farmhouse Style Coasters
How to make farmhouse style coasters. The mini wood pallets and wood crate are both from Dollar Tree. I also used rub on transfers from Dollar Tree to decorate the coasters.
These adorable coasters are easy to make. You'll need about $6 in supplies, so they are cheap to make too!
You will need:
- Wood crate
- 4 mini wood pallets
- Acrylic paint
- Rub on transfers
- Distress ink
- Mod Podge Hard Coat
Be sure to click over to my DIY Dollar Tree pallet coasters post for where to find the supplies if your Dollar Tree doesn't have them.
First paint four mini pallets and the crate white. I used two coats of white paint. Then I used black distress ink to ink the edges. I used a cotton swab to get the edges of the slats. The ink does smear for a while, so let them dry overnight.
Then place the rub ons where you want them and use something hard to rub them on.
I put them on the top so I can see them when the coasters are put away. I also put some on the front of the crate to decorate it. Then seal with Mod Podge Hard Coat. Hard coat doesn't get sticky and stick to your cups like regular Mod Podge does.
I just love how they turned out!
