DIY Festive Paper Lanterns

If you are someone who throws big parties, then you know how much work they can be. I've been looking for ways to make this party as easy as possible when it comes to the decorations and accomplished that with these festive paper lanterns. They are so cute and colorful and you don't need a party to make and decorate with these! They are perfect for hanging around the house, on the porch or anywhere you could use a pop of color!

I used 3 sizes of paper for this project... full sheets, half sheets and quarter pieces.

For the first lantern, fold the paper in half and cut slits equally along the fold.

Glue the ends of the paper together to create your lantern shape.

Turn the smaller pieces of paper into fringe and add to the lanterns.

For the second lantern, I used the half sheets and more paper fringe.

Glue the paper together at the ends for the lantern shape and add fringe.

Punch a hole in the tops of the lanterns and use string or twine to hang them.

You can make a cool paper lantern chandelier by hanging them together in a group.

Or string them along for a cool and festive garland!

These are so cute and you can really use them for anything... I could even see these hanging on trees during a BBQ.

I would love more engagement on Facebook so please follow me there if you enjoy my crafts and aren't already! icon
