DIY Plant Stand

I want to show you this gorgeous idea to make some expensive-looking planters to update your space.

I wanted to make a DIY plant stand for my succulents so I headed to my local thrift store to look for some candlesticks

and bowls.

Once back in my workspace, all I had to do was glue the bowls on top of the candlesticks so I tried out different bowls on each of the candlesticks to see which one fit the best.

When I was happy with my arrangement, I attached the bowls to the candlesticks using a rapid Super Glue that I picked up at my local Dollar Store. It was like contact cement, and I found that it worked the best for glass.

To attach the bowls, I went around the candlestick as well as the bottom of the bowl with the glue and then just let the glue sit there for a couple of minutes.

After the glue set, I press them together and let them dry. I found that if I tipped the candlestick and bowl upside down and let them set that way, they stuck better together.

I let them sit for three to four hours before touching them, to make sure the glue was really stuck and then gave two of them a coat of Stone spray paint. The paint gave them a little depth and dimension that I really liked.

I also sprayed one of my new planters with plain spray paint that was a dual bonding primer spray paint in a nice beige creamy color.

To finish off the stone-painted planters once the first coat was dry, I used spray paint to make one a lovely purple color and one grey.

Finally, I filled my new DIY plant stands with my succulents and am so happy with how they turned out.

They were so cheap to make and now I have some gorgeous planters for my succulents. I hope this inspires you to get creative and check out your local thrift store for bowls and candlesticks so you can make your own DIY succulent planters.
