DIY Washi Tape Feathers

Learn how to make these easy washi tape feathers using just washi tape and wire. Perfect for adding to gift wrapping or a table setting.
What you Need:
Washi tape in your chosen colours and designs, at least 15mm wide
Florist's wire
Wire cutters
Gather your equipment
Cut the florist wire to 23cm or 9 1/2 inches long (the florist wire I used was 46cm so I just had to cut it in half)
Starting about 12 cm or 4 3/4 inches from the edge of the wire, stick the washi tape down so the wire is centred
Extend the tape 1.5cm or 1/2 an inch from the end of the wire and then fold the washi tape back on top of itself, enclosing the wire within the tape.
Use scissors to trim the top and bottom edges of the tape into a long curved shape - irregular is good.
Now make snips down one side of the washi tape cutting on a 35-45 degree angle stopping a few millimetres short of the centre wire. Be random when cutting so some cuts are closer together and others further apart. Repeat on the other side of the washi tape.
Make 4 or 5 snips at a 90 degree angle down each side of the feather. This will cut out small triangle of washi tape.
Finally ruffle up the edges of the tape, so the feather looks more realistic.
These are so simple and fun to make - give it a go!
Perfect adornment on a beautifully wrapped present.
