Hi! It's Jess from Jessica Welling Interiors. Today I'm going to show you how to turn inexpensive recycled plastic plant pots from Ikea or the dollar store into stylish modern indoor planters with a simple hack. All you'll need is spray paint, Frog tape, scissors, and a paint pen! Visit my blog for more dollar store pot transformations and indoor plant styling tips!

I used a NYPON recycled plastic pot from Ikea. These come in several sizes. I like that they have a similar look to concrete pots. Any kind of tape will work for this project. Use the tape to create a pattern on the pot. As you can see below, I made a zig-zag pattern around the pot with the masking tape.

Next, spray paint the pot upside-down. Once it has had a chance to dry for a few hours, carefully turn it right-side-up and spray again.

Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the masking tape.

Finally, use a medium-point paint pen to draw a line down the center of each of the tape lines, and you're done! For more ideas to turn dollar store pots into stylish modern planters, visit my blog!
