Dixie Belle Paint Midnight Sky
Begin with an 8 ounce jar of your favorite Dixie Belle Paint color. Also collect a large bucket and 32 ounces of water to dilute the paint.
Make sure that your bucket is large enough that you can completely submerge your fabric in the paint solution without making a mess!
Begin with a clean and dry piece of fabric. For thick fabrics you may spray it with water before submerging in the paint solution so that you have even color and complete coverage.
Mix the paint and the water until completely smooth. The chalk paint minerals have a tendency to settle so you want to thoroughly mix it to achieve an even color.
Submerge garment in the paint and gently mix to make sure there are no dry spots. Leave the fabric in the mixture undisturbed. You may periodically check it to see if it is the color you would like but note that it may dry lighter.
Once it is complete, gently remove the fabric from the paint solution. Remove excess water carefully and avoid wringing out the fabric as this can cause a tye-dye like effect as the paint is removed from certain areas.
Lay the fabric flat to dry completely and admire the beauty of the new piece you have made!
