I am sharing an Easy Ceiling Light Makeover and the best part is, it is renter friendly! You can easily remove this light and replace the original if you move again. You know those globe lights that are pretty standard in older homes? Like this one:

I had two in the kitchen that I wanted to give a quick update to. But as I'm renting, I had to be sure I could replace the original if I move. I found this really cool metal sheet at the craft store:

I liked the design and the almost stainless look of it. Plus I was able to use a coupon, so it was a steel! I used tin snips like these https://amzn.to/2CnLDQU

and cut the sheet in half, so I can actually use it on two lights.

I was able to just cover the existing globe light and rehang it. I wrapped the metal around the light carefully and used a piece of wire to close the metal.

Then I hung the light back up with the finished side facing down. I love the soft glow that the light gives off. It is so much more modern now and really makes a difference when you walk in the kitchen. I still have the other half to use on another light.

Is the metal sheet attached to the top of the light fixture. Im concerned that it might slipp off the globe.

Did you include a picture where you attached the mesh around the globe with wire? If so, I can't see it, you did it so well. If not, could you, please? Maybe add some more details of the wire's weight, gauge, origin, and any tools required to bend and fasten it? Thanks in advance!
