Fall is just around the corner, and if you're looking for an easy, quick and affordable way to bring some beautiful autumn colors into your home, then an old basket and Dollar Store flowers are just what you need to make a gorgeous fall flower basket!

Now that you know I used Dollar Store flowers, are you interested in making one? If so let me show you how I made mine, shall I?

I am not sure whether this was a picnic basket or an old fashioned fishing creel, but I found this basket at the dump. It had no cover but the basket was really in great shape, so without any hesitation, I took it.
The basket had two locks for its cover, one in front and one in back. But as I mentioned it had no cover, so there was no point keeping the locks. Hence I started taking them off without damaging the basket.

Once the locks were removed, I taped the arm strap entirely and I gave the basket two coats of Folkart Chalk Paint in White Adirondack color. Then I set the basket aside for the paint to dry.

I painted my basket with chalk paint but you can simply spray paint yours as that might be quicker and easier ;-)
Once the chalk paint was dried (which happens pretty quick), I started working on the flower arrangement. For that, I hot glued two Dollar Store foams together. Next, I took fourteen Dollar Store fall flower picks, and started poking them into the foam. The only hint I can give for this part is that I tried to arrange the flowers as randomly as possible - "randomly as possible" being the keyword :-D

Here is my fall flower basket. Now be honest – doesn’t it look lovely? Some people tend to think that Dollar Store decoration is just cheap stuff, but with a little bit of imagination, you can actually turn them into gorgeous decor for your home, like the one you see here. ;-)

Do you like my cute little DIY sisal twine pumpkin - yes the pumpkin is also DIY, and a very easy one. So cute isn't it? I made quite a bit of them this year.
Here is the picture of my other DIY pumpkins. I made some of these with sisal twine and some of them with Dollar Store twine. Each one took me less than 5 minutes to make. And as you can guess they cost not even a dollar each to make. No kidding!

I love displaying them all together like that. :-)

I hope you liked my fall flower basket made with Dollar Store flowers.
