Anthropologie tiny flower pots are about $17 and up, each. I watched a nice video on YouTube showing five AnthropologIe Projects using dollar store materials. I thought I could fake it, too. You can decide for yourself.

I had some tiny pots I had used before, but now I’m tired of them. Time for a change, so why not a classy upgrade to an Anthropologie design, or four!

Step one. I cleaned the dust off from four cute little pots. I removed the plastic succulents in them, mainly because the fell out. I had previously painted them and used dotted wall tape as a stencil. But they are going for a new look.

These are Anthropologie pots, made with tiny eyes like screw heads and noses. For sure, I wanted to make an exaggerated face on one of the pots.
Another Anthropology pot, a little rustic with some painted details. Other pots online were similar, and I had my inspiration.
Here I am, propped up in bed, painting the first coat of White Ning on a pot. I decided to use Unicorn SPiT paint on all the pots. I knew that when I sprayed them with oil-based polyurethane, the depth of the colors would truly come through. My pots would be shiny rustic. (I have to do lots of crafts from my bed because of my disibility.)
This is about half way through. The pots are drying, some from their top coat, some not that far. My little bed table is covered with an absorbent pad for the mattress, folded in half. A friend gave me three bags of the pads and this is an efficient cover for the table. The pads are absorbent for spilled paint drops, and hold the pots in place during drying and painting. I used a 2” brush, a thin hairline brush for details, a thin line black marker for wider details, and an envelope back as a palette. The cost is about $1.25 each.
This Blue Thunder pot turned out so well, I changed a couple of my previous ideas. The white pot became a swirl/wave pot.
Another Anthropologie inspiration is gold painted dinosaurs, as well as painted wire baskets.
I added gold on the little pots, using Unicorn SPiT Golden Gosling. I painted the pots by dipping them in a tray, one from the top, one from the side, one from the bottom, and one from the bottom allowing drips to make flower stems. The paint was thinner than I expected, so the color ran more, but i don’t think that will change the cuteness of these. I also painted a dinosaur gold, and a wire basket a gorgeous turquoise with some fast drying paint I had on hand. I named each pot, as Anthropologie does.
Here is a vignette of Anthropologie knockoffs
for your pleasure. The larger your screen, the better they look. From the rear, the first pot is Gold and Agate; the second is Watermelon Love; the turquoise wire basket will come in handy, on the counter or in the pantry; the golden dinosaur is sparkly and looks like an iron figurine. In the front left is A Flower Waiting to Happen, with gold flower stems; the second is Pot à la Matisse. I had a great time doing these knockoffs. Let me hear from you.
And the cost is for all pieces, but at my cost. Some things I had on hand, so I estimated how much I used. A few things I bought were on sale, so the cost will vary greatly for you. But I spent about 1/100 or less of what these would cost me at Anthropologie. ☺️

Thank you, Ann. I have so many projects that are one or two steps from being finished, but Life intervenes. If I inspire you, then you encourage me. Thanks again. ☺️
