I love this basket. I love baskets period! The size and shape is wonderful for cottage decor. But, I don't have this shade of green in my home...solution...
This basket I found at a thrift store. It's huge and perfect. I love the detail. The problem is that it's not the right color for my home's decor..solution - paint!
The colors in my living room are gray blue and yellow. I decided to go with a soft yellow to balance the ratio of colors in the room. The main color is gray - the top accent color is blue and the final accent color is yellow - changing this basket to yellow brought out this color scheme beautifully.
Spray paint was the best solution for a clean finish and for getting in all the basket weaves.
The finished product in the living room! I filled the basket with Hydrangea blossoms from our shrub. You can see how big it is...I just had to decide where it looked best!

The basket and blooms look good here.
The basket even looks good on the ottoman. Which place did you like best?
Suggested materials:
