Painting rocks is so fun and the hobby is sweeping the nation. It's SO easy to paint them. Painted rocks are showing up all over the place from a fun activity where people paint them and leave them in places to find them. We love to paint them for our garden too!
The first thing we did for our rock painting project was find some cool flat rocks and get our painting supplies out. My kids totally LOVED this project. They really enjoyed placing their rocks in the garden too. So much fun to watch them be delighted!
We painted a base coat of color on them and let it dry.
Then we painted our designs over the base coat. Easy peasy.
The paint you choose is the most important part of the project. You need something that will last in the weather outside. We chose Amy Howard One Step Paint. We have used it on multiple outside projects already and they have been holding up great for nearly a year now. No need to seal your project or anything. The paint is rocking awesome! It also comes in really beautiful colors.
