I've been trying different ways to make geode coasters and these ended up having a glam quality to them! So fun for you room decor or home decor! icon
Watch the short video to see all the details. Here are some highlights:
Cut out a freeform shape out of thin 1/4 inch plywood. I painted the top white and the sides and back black.
I used Silly Putty to create rings on the wood pieces and I elevated them, on cups.
Then you start adding different colors of resin. You can customize them to fit your home decor!

Expect resin to run off the edges. Pop the bubbles with a lighter and let them cure.

When cured, remove the Silly Putty.
Then add more resin, where the Silly Putty was, in coordinating colors or you can be daring and use contrasting colors!
When they cure, they will have an uneven surface, so I sanded them smooth. That leaves a rough finish.
Brush a thin layer of resin on the coasters. That shines them right up!
Then I added some glue mixed with fine gold glitter and painted it on the edges.
Then you end up these glam glitter coasters!
