Handmade Greeting Cards

4 Materials
A handmade greeting card, no matter the level of difficulty, makes the receiver feel especially warm and fuzzy. There is just something special about receiving something that someone took their valuable time to make. Just change the "Happy Birthday" to "Happy Father's Day" for a nice surprise for Dad.
I used a pre-made greeting card blank- 5 1/2 " x 4 1/4." I added a mat that's a quarter inch smaller than the card base - 5 1/4 x 4.
I embossed the mat but you can purchase pre-embossed paper to cut and use for your mat (in case you don't have an embossing machine).
I added a little grosgrain ribbon and bow for an accent. I used a tape runner to attach the ribbon and an adhesive dot for the bow.
I used my Silhouette to cut out a scalloped tag (cutting the tag out with a pair of scalloped scissors works the same) and used a "Happy Birthday" cling stamp for the sentiment.
I added some green self adhesive gems for a little sparkle and put a handwritten message inside the card.
My friend was very happy with her card and I felt happy to have given it to her. You can find the complete tutorial here as well as other examples of a variety of other cards I've made here !
