I love to use incense but hate the ashy mess it often leaves. One day while playing with small terracotta pots and a saucer; I created a fun easy project. All you need is 2 different size pots, 1saucer, pencil, and some glue. This will allow for both types of incense cone or stick and the ashes fall into the saucer, which I just take the the trash and discard.
3 main items
2 different size pots and one saucer.
The following 3 pictures will help you decide how you want to stack the pots.
Option 1 for stacking pots
Option 2 for stacking pots
Option 3 for stacking the pots
This is the option I chose this time.
Pencil it in...
I drew a circle around the bigger of the 2 pots to let me know where to set the rim once I've glued it.
Time to join them...
I used clear Gorilla glue, put the glue on the pot's rim and then sat it down in my drawn circle.
It will be slippery...
Let this pot try at least 5 minutes before adding the next one.
I put the glue inside the smaller pot because it will go down the sides a little bit of the bigger pot.
Glue will foam up
After the glue dries it will foam up; remove it with an exacto knife or someone with a sharp blade.
Cone incense time...
If you're using the cone form of incense just set it on top and light it up. Let the ashes fall where they may.
Stick incense - Burn baby burn...
If you're using the stick form of incense insert in the hole of the top pot and then feel the second hole and let stick slide through both holes in the terracotta. Whaalluh! You're all done.
Enjoy the scent!
