7 Ways to Add Glimmer & Glam With Gold

Gold is back in the decorating world with a vengeance, although we're not sure it ever left! Gold is gracing every design style, and brings a touch of elegance and glamour to any space.
All that glitters may not be gold, but you sure can achieve the look! Here are a few DIY ways to bring it into your own home...
Gold is a classic and timeless way to add elegance as well as bit of glimmer and glam to any space. While there are certainly more you could employ, here are 7 of my favorite ways to add a little golden glimmer:
This previously all-black stapler got a gold spray paint-over that makes it blend in as decor! Even DIY smear art is prettier when created with a little glimmer and sheen.

Purchase clear office accessories such as this acrylic file holder, and use spray paint to add a touch of glam. Upcycle old jars into chic storage with a hint of gold leaf paint. Even these magnetic storage tins got a spray paint makeover! Learn to make them here:

Why stain wood? This wooden storage box received a finish achieved from silver spray paint, and a hint of gold around the edges. Learn how to get this look:

Never mind spending an arm and a leg to have reflective gold tins in your home? Make your own for a fraction of the cost, in a larger size for optimum storage:

Upcycle jars that have an interesting shape or bevel to them and use to store office or craft materials. A little painters tape and gold spray paint can go a long way... however, all gold spray paint isn't going to have the same hue:

We often think about adding glamour with accessories, but what about a mainstay in your home such as the rugs and carpets? Bring a little gold with a DIY painted rug:

Gold and brass pulls are more expensive than their chrome counterparts. Did you know you can spray paint hardware for the same look at a fraction of the cost? See what these pulls looked like before, and gain some tips for painting hardware here:
