Pick up some blank wood frames and give them a colorful new life with scrapbook paper and Mod Podge.

Pick up frames like this here.

I got a few wood frames to decorate the landing leading to my second floor. I wanted to use a yellow and gray color scheme to match the rest of my living room.

For this project you will need.

Gray and yellow paint

Mod podge

Patterned scrapbook paper

Scissors

Foam paint brushes

Start by painting the side of the frames in yellow or gray, or whatever color you choose.

When the paint is dry lay the paper on top of the frame and run your finger along the edge to create a crease, then cut out that shape.

If you can trace the shape onto the paper, that works too. For this particular frame tracing was not easy.

Apply a thin layer of mod podge to the face of the frame as well as the back of the paper.

Gently lay the paper on the frame and smooth out any bubbles.

Wait a few minutes for it to dry, then apply a thin coat of mod podge to the entire face and sides of the frame. This will give it a nice shine and a protect the surface.
