My mudroom was looking a bit bare and needed some life. So I decided to add some greenery directly from the ceiling. Here's how to easily hang planters using a few simple tools.

My black and white mudroom was craving some color. I chose a spot in the corner near the window for extra light to hang my planters.
Because you want your planters to be extra secure, you need to make sure you're screwing into a ceiling joist or beam. If not, you can use toggle bolts for a secure hold. I chose this spot because I could drill directly into the wood beam in our mudroom and could forego the toggle bolts altogether.

I used a power drill and pilot bit to make 2 pilot holes into the beam.
I then twisted a j-hook directly into those 2 holes until the base was flush with the wood beam.
I hung my plants and planters directly from those hooks and this spot of my mudroom was instantly looking better! Now I just need to keep these plants alive...the hardest part!
