If you're planning an outdoor wedding or get-together this summer and paper lanterns are part of the decor, here's an easy and inexpensive way to light them without having to run electrical wires or use those fake tea lights that aren't bright enough.
Here's what you'll need: an LED bulb, button cell battery, and a magnet. They're all available in bulk on eBay.
Assembly takes about 2 minutes, and costs a little over $1 each when you order the components in bulk.
Here's what the assembled light looks like. You don't have to turn it on until you're ready.
Turn the bulb on by flipping the magnet over so it's touching the battery.
Then hang it inside your paper lantern. It will stay lit for over 24 hours.

Could you list the specifics on the parts needed to make these lights? I'd like to try it but apparently don't know the correct terms for the parts.

Love, love, love this idea! I tried going to your http://www.meandmydiy.com/2013/07/how-to-light-paper-lanterns.html website but it redirected to Storables.com. I'd like to get the star template for my Circuit. Would you also send me the eBay links for the LED lights, batteries, and magnets? Thanks for your help on this!
