How To Make A Farmhouse Fan With Dollar Store Supplies
I saw that someone had crafted their own Farmhouse fan online, and it inspired me to make one myself! Here's what I did.
Here's what you'll need!
First step is to drill a hole into the side of the container. I used a used spackle container. I drilled using a 15/32 bit.
Then I pushed the oil funnel into the hole I had drilled. That will be used as the stand. And we'll paint it soon1
I then began working on the fan blades. I made a template for myself, and cut out 4 blades from cardboard.
I then spray painted the 4 blades and the stand I created earlier.
I'm going to want to add in some fun details at the end, so I also took the time to spray paint 13 thumb tacks which I'll use on the blades later on.
After that, I spray painted a pewter over the black (lightly). With the black peeking out, it has an aged look.
After the pieces are dry, you can now assemble the fan. You will begin by gluing the blades in place on the lid of the spackle jar.
Hold them down for a minute, to make sure they are good and secure.
Then glue down the bottle cap over the center of the blades, and add the black thumb tacks to each blade, it'll look like fan rivets.
I then screwed the structure down to a piece of scrap wood. It was already stained a nice walnut, and was 6x6.
I dry brushed the corners of the block with some black paint.

PS- Ladies, don't steal your hubby's oil funnel, maybe purchase a new one!
