When starting my fall decorating this year I knew I wanted a pillow to place on the chair next to my faux fireplace to complete the autumn look for the room but I also knew I didn't want to buy one so I decided to shop my house. I unpacked autumn decor from previous years and came across the tea towel above. I love the graphics across the front of it and thought it would make a great pillow. I also knew that it wouldn't fit well on a standard square pillow form.
That's when I spied the pillow above and thought I would test it to see if the tea towel would fit across it.
It did - perfectly, so I knew this would be my "new" fall pillow.
I wanted this project to be as easy and quick as possible so I pulled a man's dress shirt out of my stash. The colors matched perfectly and the beauty of using a dress shirt is that you don't need to worry about finishing any edges or making an envelope back for your pillow. It's all built-in because of the button placket.
Here is the finished pillow. I really love how it turned out and I especially like that I can reuse the tea towel in the future if I want. You can find the complete tutorial with detailed instructions on my blog.
