How to Make Faux Ceramic Vases
Here’s an easy way to upgrade any glass vase you have laying around your home. Grab some paint and Baking Soda ! I used some of my leftover Behr and Valspar paint to create some beautiful neutral faux ceramic vases. Pour your desired paint first and continuously add the baking soda until you reach your desired texture. I manipulated a 2 inch flat paint brush to create the design/ texture I wanted on my vases .Since I already had all of the material for this project , it didn’t cost me anything . You can purchase baking soda at any local grocery store for around 1$ . A simple paint sample jar would suffice ! Those go for around 3$. If you don’t have paint brushes , you can purchase affordable ones for 2-3$ ! If your looking for affordable vases visit your local Walmart , thrift stores or the Clearance isle at Homegoods. Go transform some vases ♥️ And give your home a new feel.

Here’s a time lapse of the short and easy process of transforming these glass vases into Faux ceramic vases ✨
Step by step :
- pour your desired paint in a small container
- Pour the baking soda in a teaspoon at a time. Continue until you reach your desired texture
- Use a brush- (I prefer a bristle brush flat paint brush) to start adding brush strokes to your vase. Make strokes in different directions to achieve the most texture !
- Let it dry and voila!!

I tried the project I think I probably made the baking soda paste too thick so it’s more of a chunkier look but I do like it. I’m just afraid that it will start to fall off but I may spray it with some sort of clear shellac. I am a very poor crafter so just having anything that comes out nice amazes me! I will try it again and try to perfect it but thank you for a wonderful project
