Image Transfers Done the Easy Way

How to do an image transfer the easy way without modge podge!
I removed the hinges and cleaned them and the bread box with my trusted krud kutter. This was one of those wishy washy projects of trying different things to see what I got. I ended up painting the box one color and the lid another color but you can read more about that on my blog.
The lid I painted with Paint Couture! Angelic and while wet I layed my image I wanted to transfer onto the wet paint. I also painted the transfer lightly to get it wet. Then I rubbed all of the wrinkles out and let it dry over night. Be sure to get your prints printed with LASER PRINTERS at Office Depot or some place like that. It is very cheap. Be sure that if you have words that you print out a mirror image.
Then you take a sponge and wet the back of the paper, not soaking but just enough to get it wet. Then begin to rub with your fingers and the paper will begin to roll up and you can begin to see the image. Sometimes I will leave some of the paper because I want the to glaze to grab in areas to make it look a little more distressed or old and worn.
I distressed the image as you can see in the back ground before I applied Weathered Wood Glaze by Paint Couture! love that stuff.
I applied Paint Couture Gilding Wax to the hinges also. I really liked the way it turned out. The body of the bread box had also been painted in the Paint Couture Angelic, but I changed my mind and wanted it to be 2 different colors. I painted the box with Old Fashioned Milk Paint in Sea Green. In fact I had also done the lid in that color when I decided to go 2 tone..I got some nice crackle on the lid after I painted over the milk paint with the Paint Couture! but I am not sure if it was a fluk or not but I am going to experiment some more with those and see what happens.
