K Cup Confetti Poppers

Easy
What do you do wtih all those coffee pods and k-cups after you use them? When it's almost New Year's Eve or a birthday, I love to save them up to make confetti poppers!
After use, I toss them into a ziplock bag until I have time to pull off the lids and dump out the leftover coffee and filters. It takes just a knife. I pull the trash can over to the sink and spend a few minutes emptying them.
I let them sit to dry a day or so before I get started making the poppers. I usually put them upside down in rows on a paper towel.
To make the poppers, you need small balloons. The size is usually labeled "Water balloon" size. Then all you need is various confetti.
Once I cut the bottom out of the coffee pod, I add the balloon to the bottom of the coffee pod.
Once they're all together, go outside and celebrate the new year with a shower of confetti. It's easy to just add more confetti as they pop it out of their little k-cup.
These confetti poppers are perfect for little hands. My kids get such a kick out of going outside and popping confetti.

Any thoughts on how you might be able to "seal" it for future use? That way you could hand them out to a group of people and the confetti wouldn't spill out before everyone got to pop them. For instance maybe gluing tissue paper around the edge?

My granddaughter cannot wait to make these. I think I get the instructions. You just stretch the balloon on the bottom of the K-cup and load the inside with confetti. Pulling on the bottom of the balloon pops the confetti up and out. Very cute.
