This is a really simple and easy project. I made them as Christmas gifts using the recipes for our traditional Christmas dinner. However you can use this as any type of gift like birthday or Mother’s Day using one of your traditional recipes.

Let’s get started…

The cutting boards

These are bamboo styled cutting boards that came in a three pack. I only plan on using two of them.

Supplies

Here are the supplies I used. I pulled out several Christmas ribbons not knowing just yet which one I plan to use.

Recipes

I actually made this into a two-sided item. Each recipient got both recipes. One on each side. However you can put the recipe on one side so the other side can still be used as a cutting board.

The look

The recipes were designed and printed from my computer. I made sure I sized them to fit on each board. But I really don’t like this look.

Trim

So I decided to trim a curvy edge on each. I think it looks much nicer!

Mod podge

I actually used a brush a little bit larger than what is pictured above. I brushed Mod podge on the wooden cutting boards. Careful not to be too thick. Then I lightly sprayed water on the back of the recipe paper before attaching it to the board. (I used a small spray bottle). This helps cut down on air bubbles etc. It took me a little while to position it nice and straight. But if you work fast enough you can easily make those adjustments.

Press down

i simply used my fingertips to press down and smooth out the paper. Once it dries completely go over the top with a light layer of Mod podge. Add a ribbon or bow and that’s it!

Close up

Both me and my husband grew up in an Italian household. My mom made cheese raviolis for Christmas dinner.

Close up

His mom made homemade meat raviolis for Christmas dinner.

All finished

So I ended up making both in my home each year. Last year I gave these as a gift to my daughters. This year I helped my granddaughters learn how to make homemade raviolis. They were very excited to get their own keepsake cutting boards as a Christmas gift!

I hope you will give these a try for a very memorable gift.
