Easy
These eco-friendly Easter baskets are super easy to make! The grass grows in just one week, so there is still plenty of time to make yours.
Ecofriendly Easter Baskets made of REAL grass
What you will need:

* a container with a plastic liner

*potting soil

*perennial rye grass seed

Slip the plastic liner into the container, and fill with potting soil.

Sow the seed heavily on the potting soil. (no need to cover the seed.)

Keep watered, and in a brightly lit window (or grow light)

Here's what the seed looks like after 4 days.
In just one week, the grass is ready! I used a little sphagnum moss around the edge of the plastic liner to hide it.

The basket I made is for a friend that doesn't eat candy, so I decorated it with a few silk tulips, plastic and a Macy's gift card.
Decorated and ready to give
Don't worry if your grass gets too high! Just grab scissors and "mow" it.
