How to DIY Your Own Pebble Art Pictures

You may have already seen these cute little pebble art pictures. They are definitely adorable and now you can make them yourself!
Living near Lake Michigan I have access to plenty of these smooth little beach stones, but you can use any type of small smooth stones. Try looking around your home, in a park, near a lake, a river or a creek bed. If you are unable to find stones around where you live you can likely find some at your local craft store.
The best part of this super cute and easy little craft? Everything else can be found at the dollar store!
You'll need a frame, some poster board, super glue and of course, the stones.

First, remove the glass from your frame. You will likely not need the glass because the stones tend to stick out a little too far making it impossible to keep the glass. It's no problem though, it will just be a frame without glass.

Now, cut down your poster board to fit inside your picture frame. I like to remove the back of the frame and trace around the edges so that I know it will fit in perfectly. Doing this first ensures that as you are laying out your design and deciding on where to place your stones you will know that your finished design will fit completely inside the frame. It is a good idea to leave a good half inch to an inch of space around the edge of your cut down poster board piece so that it will fit inside the frame.
Decide on a layout or how you want your picture to look. You can find plenty of ideas online if you need help deciding on a design.

Once you have layed out all of your stones and have decided exactly how you want them you can start to super glue it all into place. Let the piece lay flat and undisturbed for 24 hours to ensure that your glue has dried completely and the stones won't slip put of place.
Then place your finished design into your frame, attach the back portion of the frame and display your piece.
For this one I attached pieces of seaglass and driftwood and used a pencil to draw on the stems. I also spray painted my cheap dollar store frame so that it matched with my decor.

These cute pictures make great gifts for many different occasions such as weddings, new babies and house warming gifts.
