Want a light texture on you project? Here’s what you can add to your chalk paint to get that sand like texture!

Everything you need to take that plain basic smooth look and turn it into a creative unique texture look!

-Item of your choice to paint

-Chalk Paint (I use DIY paint)

-Baking Soda

-Paint Brush

-Tablespoon

-Plastic Spoon

-Paper Plate or bowl

There’s really no measurements to go by. But it’s basically 2 parts paint to 1 part baking soda. If you want it to be thicker just add more baking soda after you mix.

Stir the paint and baking soda together until you get a good constancy. (I added by the tablespoon) Add more paint or baking soda as needed or as you want. There’s really no wrong way!

Once you get your paint and baking soda mixed well it’s time to paint your project! I wanted to give these little clay pots some color!

Let your item dry completely before adding another coat of your textured paint. With one coat you can see all that great texture!

Here’s a second coat after it was applied. The texture is so good!

All done! It’s a whole new pot! That texture just makes it look different and gives it character!

make sure to seal it using the wax or topcoat manufactured by the paint line!
