This is a fun craft the you can do with the kids using just a few supplies that you may already have on hand like we did.
My son wanted to create something using his small marble collection, so we looked in our craft box and pulled out some craft sticks and got busy making this fun sun catcher. He selected the marbles he wanted to use and glued 5 marbles on 10 craft sticks using 527 Glue.
We left them to dry overnight. The next day we glued two craft sticks together with a long string of twine in between for hanging.
We cut smaller strips of the twine to tie the sticks together while they dried. We left them to dry again over night.
The next day we removed the ties that held the sticks together while drying. We attached the marbled craft sticks to half of a small embroidery hoop by wrapping the twin around the hoop a few times, making sure we left enough twine at the top to wrap around a round metal ring for hanging.
Tip: We used binder clips to hold the twine in place on the embroidery hoop while we wrapped the excess around the metal ring. This was a life saver and helped us to make adjustments where needed.
My son had a great time putting this together and I enjoyed helping him work through the project. It looks great hanging outside or in front of a window!
