Learning the guitar has introduced my husband and I to new folks with the same interests. So at a practice session we connected to a couple of fellow players. This started my strap making into full force. This is for our friend John.
It started out plain and simple. About 60 inches longer no before I cut it down. His only request was to have the Marine corps stamp along with his name on it.
I took a picture of his gate to his yard and had a stamp made just for him.
this is his gate to his house, so I thought wow this would be perfect on his strap. Off to my stamp maker this picture goes.
As you can see my guy who makes the stamps did a wonderful job.
The tooling and stamping is complete and now it just has to dry.
here it is all burnished and dry. Have to add the dye and add the suede straps. I burnished the back side as well so it was smooth, so it won't snag on any clothing.
Here is the dyed part and now it just has to dry, then will add the seal and be able to deliver it to him. He wanted it done before we went to Virginia to compete in a bluegrass competition.
All sealed and ready to go to its new owner.
he loved it and wore it on his mandolin for the competition at the bluegrass competition.
