Fabric Wrapped Green Mason Jar Candles for Christmas

I love using mason jars, and especially loved when Ball came out with the Heritage Collection in blue, green, and purple. I wanted to use the green ones this year for Christmas candles but didn't want to do anything like light real tea lights that would damage the jars. So I came with an idea to make them festive for the holiday but nothing that would keep me from being able to reuse the jars.
For this project I used 6 pint sized green mason jars, denim fabric ribbon, battery operated tea lights, and red and green fine point Sharpie markers.
First, I wrapped the white denim ribbon around one of the jars and cut it to fit. Since the ribbon was much wider than the jar, I measured and cut the ribbon in half around 3 inches. The denim ribbon was frayed on the edges so I pulled on the fabric to fray the edges of the new cuts.
I made the "Peace" lettering on grid paper, around 2 inches for each letter and the cone shaped tree and cut them out. I used these as a template in the "middle" of each cut ribbon and traced it first with a pencil. After that it was easy to trace over the pencil marks with either the green or red Sharpie markers. I alternated the letters and tree with either the red or green markers.
I didn't want to use glue on the jars so I attached the ribbon with Velcro dots.
This was such an easy project. I added the battery operated tea lights and put the whole set of 6 jars on display for the holidays.
Not only can I remove the ribbons to a different colored jar if I want, but they can easily be stored away with the Christmas decor without worrying about breaking the jars.
