I have loved Miles Redd ever since I saw his spaces featured in Domino magazine years ago. I mean, the man is brilliant. I love his Deconstructed Stripe fabric pattern. My blog is named The Striped House, so I love a good stripe patternicon

A group of other bloggers and myself challenged ourselves to create a DIY piece inspired by Miles Redd. So I chose to create a Deconstructed Stripe vase.

I found a vase in my basement that has been hiding since a previous botched DIY project years ago.

I bought a 50 cent piece of white poster board from the grocery store.

I grabbed a yard stick and started drawing lines every half inch apart. I used a thin tip black marker.

I flipped it over and drew out a bunch of triangles of different shapes and sizes.

I cut out the triangles and flipped them over.

I grabbed some decoupage and went to town pasting them all over the vase making sure to overlap them the tiniest bit to cover the blue vase. I also pasted them going over the top and down the inside a couple inches.

Here is how the finished version looks. I hope you like how it turned out. You can read the full blog post and read more details over here.
