Modern DIY Picture Frames

I first saw some picture frames at West Elm with gold accent on them and I thought they would be perfect for our dining room. Unfortunately these picture frames were selling $50 for a piece...ouch ...there was no way I was going to spend that amount of money . I figured I could make something similar with my own spin to it. So if you are interested in saving $40 and have the same look of a picture frame that looks and cost expensive here is how I achieved the look.
Material
- Dollar store picture frames or recycled frames from Thrift Store
- White spray paint, i used Rustleum pure white
- Corner brackets with brushed metallic gold, i used hardware essentials( see picture below)
- Gorilla all purpose Glue
Directions
- Remove the glass from the frame
- Spray paint the frames, if you purchased them in white you can skip this stage. If you purchased from thrift store this step will be necessary to make sure they all have the same colour
- Repeat with a second layer of spray paint
- Follow the directions on the paint on dry time
- Once the frames are dry, put a good amount of glue on the corner brackets and attach it to the frame on each corner.
- Hold the brackets a few minutes to ensure its glued on the frame
- Select your pictures and put them in frames.
The picture frames are best on walls and shelving. This is an easy and affordable project and anyone can do it.
