Moss Hurricane Lamp Diy

A couple of weeks ago I shared with you my driftwood hurricane lamp and seashell hurricane lamp.
Well, I had 3 of these hurricane lamps to decorate... and while I love decorating in groups of three, I wanted to see what other ideas I could come up with.
I was lucky to score these 3 hurricane style lamps, or as Michael's calls them, cylinder glass vases, for the fantastic price of $3 each on my first stop at Goodwill. These were 14 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. OK, I could have waited for them to go on sale, but they may have been gone by then.
When I started these hurricane lamps, I had no idea that I would be making a collection of slipcovers for hurricane lamps. That's right, all the coverings just slip right off. You don't really need more than 1 or 2 actual hurricane lamps, you just need a place to store the covers.

This lamp/vase started with a cloth slip cover.
My first idea of using real moss quickly evaporated when it started to turn brown. Next idea was to use the bagged dry moss. This "moss" was purchased at Michaels and hot glued in place.
Jute twine was wrapped around and also hot glued in place.
For the full tutorial I hope you get a chance to stop by.
