My Favorite DIY Christmas Decoration-- an Extrawide Red & White Bow!!

Tie a wide ribbon around your throw pillows for a quick and easy holiday transformation. Or, do it my way and make your own two-tone ribbon… (But do yourself a favor and DO NOT ASK your husband to help you cut the fabric or you will end up with a pile of unusable scrap!) http://victoriaelizabethbarnes.com/diy-bow-for-christmas-decorating/
I like to do everything the hard way, so I decided to make my own extra wide ribbon...
Or you could just buy a spool of pretty, red velvet ribbon! it is such a fast way to add some holiday cheer.
I am not sure I actually endorse the idea of making your own ribbon… But I was OBSESSED with having a bow that was extrawide and 2-tone.
So I enlisted my husband as fabric-cutter… NOT A GOOD IDEA!
Sew the fabric in alternating strips… I used duck cloth and red satin for a mix of rustic glamour. Don't forget to iron it to make the seams crisp.
For lots more photos and tips, AND to see my old Victorian house decorated for Christmas, come say hello on my blog! Happy Holidays! xoxo, Victoria
