New Life for a Busted Lamp Shade With Chicken Wire.

3 Materials
This was a very nice shade till the cat knocked over the lamp and busted the bracket. So I love the shape and needed a basket.
Finish removing the broken bracket.
Strip all the fabric and glue from the wire frame.
Cut chicken wire for the bottom, leaving extra wire to wrap around the fram.
I cut panels as I went, 5 total. Large side and small pannel in one piece. Securing each as I worked my way around.
Wrap and secure all loose and poking wires.
Now fill and decorate!!!

Well I have never done it .. but if I was going to put new fabric on a fram .. I would hand stitch and use hot glue sparingly. Hope the helps ..good luck!

I took a class years ago--it was so easy! You just lay out your fabric single lyer, and place the side of your shade on it---cutt pieces the size of the section plus about 1inch. Cut as many as the number of sections iin your shade frame. Then, using a glue gun, attach them, everyother section, one at a time. wrap the edges around the side wires. Then, go back and glue in the empty sections, trimming the excess. Then glue a trim down the ridge of each section wire.. When thru, glue a nice fringe on the bottom. Done! I made all of mine! years ago---they are still gorgeous. Have fun!

Above directions say 5 panels were cut and if you look at upside down empty pic closely you can see where the panels were wired to the lampshade framing.

Aren't you afraid the chicken wire will attract chickens?
