Old Doll House Turned Mini Man Cave!

A friend of mine asked if I would be able to convert her old doll house into something that her son might enjoy. It had been a cherished childhood gift and it was evident that in its current state, it was not of any interest to her little boy. After some consideration, I decided to incorporate the families tradition of going to the cabin and embracing the outdoors so what better than a fishing lodge!
So here is what it looked like when I started
I used found or re-purposed elements. Using deconstructed wood place mats I made a wood floor and an old fishing ornament glued to some stained popsicle sticks makes a great piece over the mantel. The rock fireplace is a box covered in grout and small pebbles and of course every man cave need a bar skin rug with faux fur glued to brown paper.
A four post wooden bed is an easy project - just used 4 twigs glued to a box lid covered in plaid fabric and you have a perfect rustic bed.
You can't make a hunting fishing cabin without some taxidermy and a few fishing rods! I found a plastic animal and removed its head as humanely as possible lol then attached it to cardboard for mounting. The fishing rods are kabob sticks, string, smaller metal washers and beads.
Finally - I added some leather from an old purse to the existing couch - added in a few additional found pieces like the clock and stained the entire house to give it that cabin ambiance and that old doll house is now a mini man cave!
