Our small foyer gets so cluttered with summertime gear, so I annexed the garage wall just outside the door to hang a pegboard organizer that will keep sunscreen, sunglasses, and other summer essentials organized.
I had some leftover pegboard from my wrapping supply closet project, so I cut it to fit the spot on the wall and then painted a fun pattern on it. Instructions for how to paint the pattern are on Home Made Modern .
Then I went to the hardware store to find things to use for hanging our summer gear. Metal pipe straps work perfectly for storing sunglasses. I used three, and screwed them right through the holes in the pegboard and into a 1X2 positioned on the back of the pegboard for support.
Hose clamps hold small canning jars that are great for holding sunscreen sticks...
...and even money for the ice cream truck!
Finally, a wire basket holds goggles, sunscreen and bug spray.
